Meshcom Experiments

I really like MeshCom as an alternative to the earlier Lora-APRS developments. Why?

because:

  • It’s really simple to install
  • It supports many different boards
  • It support different use-cases like a GPS tracker, simple messaging, emergency messaging
  • As it power consumption is really low, the use-case for emergeny usage is very interesting
  • It has a pretty cool app to configure the boards and do messaging from your Android phone

So I decided to build a few gateways and trackers as the boards needed I already had from my earlier experiments with LoraAPRS.

I used the following boards:

  • As a gateway: DollaTek LoRa32 433 MHz ESP32 LoRa
  • As a client/tracker: LILYGO T-Beam V1.2 Meshtastic ESP32 LoRa
